We are pleased to announce that the LAUSD school board, acting on the recommendation of the LAUSD committee, has renewed our charter for the next five years. We look forward to continuing to serve the community in every capacity and expanding our outreach to meet more of your needs! We thank everyone who showed their support through this process. In the next five years, our goal is to be ranked in the top 1% of all schools and to be one of the top 100 schools in the United States. This will be accomplished with increased communication, accountability, hard work, pro-activeness and persistence while problem solving as a family to help each other out to compete competitively after high school.
The jewel in the Alliance crown is the Patti and Peter Neuwirth Leadership Academy, located in a shiny new building at 47th and Main streets in South L.A.
The concept behind buddy day is that our High school students got to pair up with college students and see what "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BRUIN " is like.
From over 100 SoCal JSA chapters, Neuwirth Leadership Academy won Chapter of the Year. The indicators for the award were Leadership, Conference Presence, Membership Interest, Community Involvement, Chapter Activities, and Accomplishments. Way to Go Boxers!
We have 10 seniors who have been accepted to UCLA! This beats our 2013 record of 7 students!
Our First Annual Alliance-wide JSA Conference hosted by Neuwirth Leadership Academy was an outstanding success! ...Our JSA students put on a remarkable event at City Hall this past Sunday. We had over 200 students from 28 schools across Southern California attend.
Neuwirth teachers score high on teacher effectiveness scale for 2013-2014 school year. 14 of Neuwirth's teachers earned "Master" status, while all the others ranked "Highly Effective". Congratulations teachers!!!
Our JSA chapter joined City Councilman Curren D. Price Jr. in advocating for the renovation of District 9's South Park to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Our JSA chapter won a commendation for being the most civilly engaged chapter and was recognized for organizing the second most members to Fall State. Marcos Gonzalez won two Best Speaker Gavels. See our videos for more....
Joined with City Councilman Curren D. Price Jr., Neuwirth JSA students interviewed local residents to find out what city change they were passionate about and to encourage them to vote this Tuesday.
Five of Neuwirth's students were invited to serve as directional staff at Alliance's 10th Anniversary Celebration at the manse of Tony Ressler and Jami Gertz October 23, 2014. Besides duties, they got to chat with LL Cool J and dance with Jami to OXOMATLI live.
On Sept. 13th, Neuwirth JSA Club volunteered to go door-to-door in South L.A. to help the Mayor hear from South L.A. residents & give the skinny on raising the minimum wage.
