The Education Protection Account (“EPA”) provides local education agencies (“LEA”) with general purpose funding from the State of California. This funding was provided by the passage of Proposition 30 on the November 2012 California ballot. A spending plan must be approved by the governing board during a public meeting. EPA funds cannot be used for the salaries or benefits of administrators or any other administrative costs. Each year, the LEA must publish on its website how much money was received from the EPA and how the funds were expended.
